THE TRUTH ABOUT PORN

Out of about 1,500 performers in California, 18 people that we know of died from AIDS, suicide, homicide and drug related deaths between 2007 and 2009. 14 more died from medical causes to include lung disease, heart failure and cancer. These are only the deaths. There are many more living with diseases and cancers which are too numerous to count.

That's a total of 32 porn performers in thirty months between January, 2007 and June, 2009 who died prematurely from HIV, suicide, drugs, murder and medical illnesses. No other industry has these kinds of statistics, not even the music industry which is at least ten times bigger than the porn industry.

When the deaths of 129 porn performers over a period of roughly 20 years were analyzed it was discovered that were an unusually large number of premature deaths from such causes as drugs, suicide, murder, alcohol abuse, accidental death, and disease. It was also discovered that the average life expectancy of a porn performer is only 37.43 years whereas the average life expectancy of an American is 78.1 years.

Pornography is big ugly business.

It is estimated that there are 4.2 million porn Web sites — 12 percent of the total amount of sites — allowing access to 72 million worldwide visitors monthly. One-quarter of total daily search engine requests, or 68 million, are for pornographic material, where 40 million Americans are regular visitors.

Chatsworth, California produces 85% of the world’s adult content. All of the top female talent agencies are located in or with in the Chatsworth local radius. Female performers are flown or fly to Chatsworth to work in the adult industry. All of the world’s top male talents live or travel to Chatsworth California for work. Almost every major and minor adult DVD Company is in the local Chatsworth radius.

The United States adult film industry produces 4,000–11,000 films a year and earns an estimated $9–$13 billion in gross revenues annually. An estimated 200 production companies employ 1,200–1,500 performers. Performers typically earn $400–$1,000 per shoot and are not compensated based on distribution or sales.

STDs

Sexually transmitted diseases are highly prevalent in the pornography industry. Los Angeles Public Health Department reports that Chlamydia and Gonorrhea infections among performers are 10X greater than that of LA County 20-24 year olds. They conclude that risk and burden of sexually transmitted infections among porn performers are unacceptably high. Dr. Sharon Mitchell, former porn actress and founder of Adult Industry Medical Healthcare Foundation (AIM) confirms the STD prevalence in an interview with Court TV where she states “66% of porn performers have Herpes, 12-28% have sexually transmitted diseases and 7% have HIV.

Porn stars also have a lot to say about STDs. Click here to read.

According to SafeFamilies.org, 33% of clergy admitted to having visited a sexually explicit web site. 51% of pastors say online porn is a possible temptation. 57% of pastors say that addiction to pornography is the most sexually damaging issue to their congregation. Yet, Pastors are afraid to talk about the problem of pornography in church.

Maybe they need to hear the truth that every time they click, they contribute to the destruction of human lives.
