A Thoughtful Reflection~Loves Image
I have always had a special place in my heart when it comes to working with or counseling children, as well as adult women who have been exposed to or lived within abusive situations. Abuse has many different facets that all paint a picture in the same direction pain, fear, codependency, insecurity and in some extreme cases exploitation. I grew up in a household of abuse; physical, mental, emotional and sexual. I am now live a enriched life and enjoy sharing my redeeming experience with others. Simply scrole to my name Spiknard_Oil and read the testemony here on Pink Cross.
I have had the wonderful advantage in my life as a young adult of having loving safe mentors, all roses have their thorns of course. This is not always the case for others with a similar background. Some seasons I have been alone being mentored by the Word of God, the Bible and the conviction of the Holy Spirits guidance. As a result of the inner growth, I have made efforts to be a teacher and advocate, by investing in my education, being involved in counseling, trainings and certifications in related to the areas that could benifit those who desire help. From much of the process I have had to learn and endure in disipline, the disipline of honoring Gods Word through self restraint and submitting myself to those who cared enough to take the time to invest in me, has not always been easy.
I have used the reality of my upbringing to be a stepping stone to overcoming many obstacles. Stepping stones of growth, require any individual desiring freedom and personal restoration. There are many variations of abuse with its effects. It’s important to utilize the support systems offered to assist oneself in working through the process of restoration. Personally I have found my faith and church family to be the most effective resource in my personal growth and inner healing.
One of the unfortunate things I have found with working with youth and adults is, the many who choose to abide in a victim or poverty mentality. It’s very challenging to work with individuals who have no drive or desire to mature in going through the process to break free from abusive relationships and even mentalities. In particular when it is a result of codependence that is why the unhealthy addiction is left unchecked. It is a proven statistic that children who are abused or grow up in that type of life, themselves have the tendency to become abusers. I believe through positive role models and other healthy tools a lot of healing and avoidable situations and repercussions in our nation and neighborhoods.
As a nation I would like to see the focus of state funding go to funding programs that teach Osha Level Sexual Harassment training leading to thorough K through 12 school training, equipping and certifications so as children grow up through the years, getting level upon level of training leading as the core within them matures with discernment and a response of self restraint within a sexual situation.
As a nation I would like to see the focus on dealing with the negative causes that build a case leading to the conclusion of why abstinence is the best choice, then demonstrate examples of cause and effect mixed with those same generational society individual, family and societal patterns and what is the fuel that continues to feed endorsing those patterns. I believe in teaching good sound judgment, so when a individual is presented with a choice, they have a strong will, understand wisdom and are more concerned with making a wise choice towards investing in a future then a choice that is attached to a generational pattern of ignorance.
