The penalty box is basically what I called the period of time I put on myself when I had just sinned when I would refrain from praying, reading my bible, listening to Christian music, or any other worship activity until I felt I wasn"t too dirty to do so again. This is a rather interesting thing that is actually quite common amongst porn addicts. I did it a lot as well. It is definately a trick of the enemy. Always remember that if we are in Christ then Christ died for all our sin. II Corinthians 5:21 says:

"For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God."

When we inflict such a penalty on ourselves we are in a sense acting as if the Cross is not enough and we must take a period of pentinance before we can approach God again. If there is any time we need to pray, get into the word, or do anything that draws us near to God it's right after we have fallen. I encourage any of you who do this to make a habit of turning immediately to God right after you fall.

Also as a bit of a footnote I have only seen this in people of faith because it does concern where someone sees there standing in the eyes of God but if there are any of you who are agnostic or atheistic and you do the same penalty box thing except you avoid other things do share.
