God's plan of salvation in the Old Testament geneologies

I was listening to the radio today, and the teaching pastor pointed out something very interesting about how the the meanings of the names in the geneology from Adam to Noah basically pointed out God's plan of redemption through Jesus Christ.

Genesis 5

Adam begat Seth, who begat Enosh, who begat Cainan, who begat Mahalalel, who begat Jared, who begat Enoch, who begat Methuselah, who begat Lamech, who begat Noah.

Adam - "man"
Seth - "appointed"
Enosh - "mortal"
Cainan - "possession"
Mahalalel - "praise of God"
Jared - "descend/to come down"
Enoch - "dedicated"
Methuselah - "when he dies, it shall be sent"
Lamech - "for humiliation"
Noah - "comfort"

Taking all of these names in order, the mission of Christ is spelled out:

A Man appointed, a mortal possession, the praise of God, brought down and dedicated. When He dies, it shall be sent for humiliation and comfort.
