encouragement to reach out to those who don't know Jesus
William Booth displayed the same boldness and zeal when he wrote in King Edward VII’s
registry:
Your Majesty, Some men’s ambition is art.
Some men’s ambition is fame.
Some men’s ambition is gold.
My ambition is the souls of men.
Jonathan Edwards in his sermon “Sinners in the Hand of an Angry God†touched on the urgency
of getting right with God. This sermon was based on Deuteronomy 32:35 which clearly uses four
terms to exemplify the urgency involved in God’s judging of His people (recipients of the
message). This same urgency is a part of the proclamation of the message, in our case,
evangelism. The New Testament also testifies of the importance of the “now†(2 Cor 6:2) and of
“today†(Heb 4:7). The following notes highlight the biblical foundation for an urgent
evangelism.
Individuals who are not born-again believers in Jesus Christ are
spiritually dead (lifeless), heading for an eternal hell, and in desperate need of the Savior!
Abba Father, In seeking to be obedient to You and Your will, I pray you will help me to see the desperate need as you see it and actively develop me to be the messenger you need me to be to reach those who do not know You so that I glorify You.

Yes, Father;
May we never become blind to the condition of the lost. Lord, may our sense of urgency outweigh any inhibitions that we may have, and may our hearts burn within us to share the Gospel, and to see souls won for your Kingdom.
Father, I pray right now that the words that LOG have spoken may resonate within us, and that our witness may pour forth out of us, rather than allowing it to remain stifled within us.
Lord, give us Your heart, Your mind, and Your purpose, so that we may seek to plant seeds wherever we go. Father, give us wisdom on how to share the gospel most effectively, and that our wisdom would not be overtaken by our zeal for you. Make us zealous, Lord, but also taper our zeal with discernment and intelligence, so that we may be effective witnesses for You.
Lord, without You, we are nothing. Without You, our witness amounts to nothing, so I pray Lord that You would be a strong presence in our witness. Come beside us everytime there is an opportunity to share, and show us how we can shine most brightly for you. We know that You are the One who convicts the human heart, so I pray right now that through our words You might bring conviction to those who are lost.
Thank you, Lord, for using us for Your glory.
We love You so much, and our hearts prayer is that You would be glorified through us.
