God Wants to Know You Personally

If you look around, you will see order and design. The universe is so complex, and so beautiful, Somebody knew what they were doing when all of this got put together. God is that Somebody, and it was His intent that all of the awe and wonder that you may have experienced at some point in your life (even if it was a long time ago) would point to Him. (Ps. 91:1). In Romans 1:20, the apostle Paul tells us that God has made Himself know to us through nature and an inner, instinctive recognition of who He is:

For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse. (Romans 1:20)

In nature, you can find evidence that God exists... but nevertheless... you will still need to accept Him by faith.

And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him. (Hebrews 11:6)

If you don’t believe in God, there are probably a billion reasons you could find not to believe. But, if you honestly step back and look at all of this around us... it really takes more faith NOT to believe than it does to acknowledge that all of your awe and wonder should be directed at Him.

Look at the sunset.

Watch the waves crash onto the seashore.

He made it all.

“So what if He does exist... He is so distant anyways, it doesn’t really matter.”

“God doesn’t really care about my problems. How could He. There are 7 billion people in the world. Many of them are worse off than me. How could He notice me?”

You’re not the only one to feel like the only one when it comes to these feelings and thoughts about God.

But, take a look at what the Bible says about a God who is seeking you out, because He wants to be with you. “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness.” (Genesis 1:26) God wants you to reflect His image. The Creator of everything you see wants you to have a personal friendship and relationship that is real and tangible. He wants you to know Him, and He wants to be your closest friend.

All of us have a need and a desire to know and be known by God. Completely known by God.

But often we are kept from entering into that whole relationship because of sins from our past... or the skeletons in the closet. If you could enter into that kind of relationship, regardless of what you did last year... or last month... or last night... wouldn’t you go for it?

To have someone accept you for who you are, and where you are at... the dirtiness... the shame... all of it... Can you admit that that is exactly what you hope for in God?

Good News! The God who created the world (and you) is hoping you’ll accept His invitation to know Him.

“In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him.” (1 John 4:9)

But before we go there:
What prevents us from believing that the Creator God would want to have anything to do with us because of how we have desecrated His wonderful creation?

The enemy..

he reminds us of our failures.. he keeps us focused on our dirt, shame, and failures...

"We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ." 2 Corinthians 10:5

"Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things." Philippians 4:8

I have had to meditate on these scriptures every day for the last week because.. I know the enemy will continually make me believe I am not worthy.

Although we have different "strongholds" the enemy uses here..We all face the lies he slams our face. Regardless of any past, any hurt, any shame.. Gods GRACE remains.. the same..constant.. faithful.. unconditional.... neverending..

Our minds are amazing things.. and when we know Christ.. His power and His strength that led Him to the cross is ours to tap into.

"Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus" Romans 8:1

We have the same power and strength Jesus did to fight the good fight. The minute the enemy tries to lie to us.. we have the choice..

We can let the enemy "win".. or we can capture that lie and throw it out just as fast as it came in!!!

What a blessing!!!

I belive God leads us to places like this to speak to us.. and I'm so so thankful I am here! Thank you for allowing yourselves to be used by HIM.. to serve.. encourage.. love..and point us to Him!

Indeed this is my problem

This is what I need to work on, realizing the attacks of the enemy on my mind using accusations and condemnation, making me feel unworthy and condemned...ugh it is such a stronghold in me, and I'm not good at countering it with scriptures. Thanks for the reminder and words of encouragement!

"Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are Mine!...I am the Lord, your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior;...You are precious and honored in my eyes, and I love you...do not be afraid, for I am with you." (Is.43:4-5)

I use to struggle with that as well and I found that speaking

truth over myself everyday, changed some of that automatic response.
The above verse is a great one to personalize and say over yourself daily. It makes you stronger to repeat God's truth and helps you internalize it.....

Which verse are you talking about?

You said, "the above verse is a great one to personalize" so I wanted to be sure which one you're talking about. Yeah, I am trying to speak scriptures and watch what I say, since there is the power of life and death in the tongue, I want to speak life!

"Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are Mine!...I am the Lord, your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior;...You are precious and honored in my eyes, and I love you...do not be afraid, for I am with you." (Is.43:4-5)

What your Father God wants you to know...

When He says that it will all be ok... it will be.

He makes sacrifices... so you don't have to.

Your value comes because you are His... and that is so much more than a value that comes from the way you look.

He doesn't punish you because of your mistakes... but He will help you learn from them.

He always has time for you.

You always have a home to return to.

You are never to old to need Him.

You deserve to be treated well.

Without Him... your family is incomplete.

He wants to protect you from the nighttime fears.

He wants to answer the questions that keep you up at night.

He wants to protect you.

You are His favorite. :-)

Even when life feels like it... all is not hopeless.

He is with you on your journey... you don't have to do it alone.

He will teach you integrity.

You are the most beautiful.

You can forgive... sometimes more than once.

He is the safe place you can turn to.

He will show you what it means to be loved.

There is a difference between being firm and being stubborn.

You have at least one Hero that won't let you down.

He will protect you when you don't know how to protect yourself.

...and so many more things. Just reach out to Him... He is waiting...

I really like it. A number of them really speak to me personally. I don't really even know what to say right now. Thanks for the encouraging words.
