If God didn't create "sex" then the world wouldn't be so violent ya think?? :-/ if there wasn't "sex" men would think with their heads and understand what feelings are. Ya think??! Why would God create something that he knew would become a destruction? He knew that all this would happen. Why would he even LET it happen? I just...can't wrap my stupid mind around it. I mean...if I was God (I am not saying I WANT to be God, but IF I was...) and I KNEW the future and everything....I wouldn't create things that would turn bad and hurt people. Does that make since? It makes perfect since to me for sure! Ya know! So yea...maybe this is the wrong place to put this topic, but I didn't know where else to put it.

Theodicy on trial...

Like my sig says...theres no shortage of bad intentions. But God's intentions were good. Sex was given to us as an expression of love. We are the ones who have used it, like so many other things, for evil.

God has given us food, water, and shelter, which we hoard away and hide from those who dont have it. He's given us friends and family, that we sometimes use to further our own agendas. He's given us a world full of natural resources, that we use to build weapons of war.

To blame this, or that, or the other thing, is to miss the real point. Humanity is corrupt. There are plenty of other things we put to evil purposes besides our sexuality. Should He have not created us?

When my would-be girlfriend was murdered, I wondered the same thing. The guy was a pedo, and I still feel, to some extent, like I failed to protect her.
But after seeing all the other creative ways we've come up with for doing evil, I knew the answer was deeper. It's a disease of the human heart and mind.

You have no idea what that did to me, and still does sixteen years later. But I can tell you that it makes me ANGRY! If only I'd been on the ball that night, she would still be with us today. Should I rage against God, or sex, or my fellow human beings? Absolutely not. It was an evil heart that caused this, and it's against sin that I direct my anger.

Have hope. Look to Jesus for our redemption. The evils of this world are only temporary. Inevitably the Good wins out in the end.

-----------------------------------------------------
They say "The road to hell is paved with good intentions". Why do they say that? Is there a sudden shortage of bad intentions?

Agreed

I agree. The truth is, when man rebelled, everything was corrupted -- not just sex. Sex was corrupted because it was a part of the human experience.

God originally created sex to be a beautiful part of the human experience...a way for a man and woman to become intimate at the deepest level. This was corrupted because, when Adam and Eve rebelled, the unity between them also was severed. The unity between God and man was severed, but also the unity between man and woman. That is why there is so much contention and misunderstanding between men and women now. It wasn't always like that.

Man and woman were created to complement one another, and to enrich one another. They were created as one unit. Part of this was the sexual union. This is why Satan has worked so hard to pervert it -- because it is how man and woman were created to enjoy intimacy, and how the human race propogates itself.

God had to create sex in order that man could fulfill His commandment to "be frutiful and multiply." The reason why sex has become so perverted is because the union between man and woman has been perverted.

No agrl20, I was AGREEING

No agrl20, I was AGREEING with you about sex creating so many problems in the world like you said and porn sex not being what God had in mind when He created it. I was talking about porn being stupid- NOT YOU- and how some people are turned on with it. I wasn't accusing you personally of liking it or watching it. I actually think you're very smart for bringing up such good comments about it and having the courage to say what you did. You're perfectly right- porn is not sex as God intends- and I was just adding to your comments. I'm sorry you misunderstood me.

Why does porn exist?

There really are many reasons why it not only continues but grows bly leaps and bounds. It is however a way to control and dominate women, making women feel that they have to do something to be popular or even to just get along at school or at home.

Why all of that happens is becaue believer have not stood in love an unity to stop it. Evil can only prosper when God's people do little or nothing to stop it. Lets get one concept straigh if we can, God did not put all power and authority in the hands of those in the world, but those in the body of Christ and until we learn that, accept and then learn how to walk in that authority, things cannot get better.

Porn is a very serious game in which the object is to teach women that we have no value except to "perform." [edited by moderator]

Porn simply goes after men to teach them how they should treat women and women are in porn to go along to get along and hopefully in one piece. It really all starts in out cognitive years of development, being taught that the only way we are likely going to make it in life is to marry a man that is making it.

[edited by moderator]

I would be happier if girls were taught at an early age that they have value, beyond our looks, then of course we are also taught to use those looks to get what we want. Go figure?

All of this does happen because of a lack of love and teaching in the church. Think of it this way. We send our children to public schools so they can learn to make it in life? Truth is the only way to make it in life is to really understand God's plan for that person, but that takes seeking God and being willing to go in that direction, which is not what is taught in most churches.

The question I have and still have is in the OT Salvation was really about seeking God and then walking in what God had them do. Today salvation has been reduced to believing and Satan is the biggest believer of them all. To me anyway and what we teach is that the introduction to Jesus is just that and yes if we died at that moment we would be on our way to heavn, but if we live we seem to wonder like the Jews did looking for the promised land, but yet we call that salvation, to wonder in the desert. I hope for everyones sake God Calls that salvation also, becaue if He does not there really will be a lot of dissapointed people.

The Bible says that all authority on earth has been given to Jesus Christ (Mt. 28:18). Believers are only given as much authority as Christ chooses to give them. We have been given authority by Christ to be His witnesses, and I believe that Jesus has given us authority to go and minister to those in affected and hurt by pornography. Even so, God is the final authority.

I understand and agree with what you say. Salvation comes when one believes in Jesus Christ, but I don't think that it's being reduced at all. Jesus Christ had to die a brutal and gruesome death in order for us to attain that salvation.

I think that the main difference between Old Testament and New Testament salvation is that in the OT, it was all about our own works, whereas in the NT, it is all about the work of Christ on the cross. In the OT, it wasn't even about true salvation, because all of that animal sacrifice really couldn't take away man's sin (Heb. 10:4) -- it just covered it up. True salvation came with Christ's death, when we were justified and redeemed.

Ya, the book of James tells us that even the demons believe in Jesus, but theirs is not a saving faith. It's about putting our trust in Him for our salvation, not just some intellectual faith.

[quote]Why all of that

I think it was Paul that wrote, that we are Ambassodors for Christ having the authority to bind and loose.

"I think that the main difference between Old Testament and New Testament salvation is that in the OT, it was all about our own works,"

Actually the reason Jesus came to begin with was because Israel was the most powerful nation on earth, but they made a boo boo and entered into covenant with Rome, so that Israel would be recognized by Rome. That was God's responsibility to deal with Rome, but Israel took it on themselvs. That is not God's way to do things, we either stand in faith which is what salvation is or enter covenant with the enemy. It was not by works even in the OT, it has all been by faith from the beginning and still is today. The big difference between OT and NT is two things, first anyone can have the Spirit of God for the asking. That in itself is the power of God, but there are two parts to that. The first in the OT, the annointing was a mantel that was reserved only for kings, prophets and priests, where in the NT anyone can have the anointing for the asking, but then there is the born again experience, which could not happen until Acts chapter two and after. A believe is one who believes without having the power of the Holy Spirit.

Because of the limitation in the anointing in the OT, it meant if the priests, prophets or kings boo booed, everyone would suffer. I should also mention that with the anointing also comes the responsibility of the anointing and what happens, just as a king, prophet or priest would have in the OT. One cannot have the good stuff without the responsibility or the accountablity of it.

Should also mention it was never God's idea for His people to have a king or people to lord over others. That was Israels idea. In fact, God warned against it and even said they would not like it and in part was beause if the king boo booed the people would suffer. Samuel was the last of the great prophets, because of the peoples decision to go with a king. What they got was Saul. David was both a king and priest.

I would also like to mention that the NT really did not start until Acts 2. Jesus is and was the Word, but in Acts chapter 2 it was possible for us to become living epistles or the word. The New Covenant could not start until after Jesus ascended to heaven. What did happen is some scribe somewhere decided to put Matthew, Mark, Luke and John in the what is called the New Testament. Granted Jesus is the example, but then again if Jesus came as a man as an example, that also means by faith we should be able to do what He did. Otherwise He would be a bad example, if we could not do what He did. Granted He was filled with faith from His birth, but then again when did our birth take place, when we became children of earthly parents or children of God?

If your statement is true that God is the final authority, then the shape of the planet is His fault, if He is in control and that people starving to death is His will? Then I am not sure where the love of the Father comes in? You see, through Jesus we have the right and responsibility to approach God boldly. Not because of us or anything we could ever do, but because of what Jesus did for us.

That could not take place until Jesus asscended back to heaven. It is why He said it is better for you that I go. The people in Acts chapter 2 were to first Spirit filled people in history.

"True salvation came with Christ's death, when we were justified and redeemed." I agree in part, because it is a gift of God, but then once accepted the gift, we are also expected to stand in faith, not that we are saved, but the faith to deal with problems and needs, looking to God through Jesus for solutions, whether it be the porn industry, prostitution, disease or starvation. The fact is we are to represent the love and will of God to all peoples on earth. We are responsible for that.

The only way one knows if we belong to Jesus or not is by our love one for the other. It is not the power or the teaching or all the smarts and wisdom one can obtain. How one knows if they really belong to Jesus is by our love one for the other. If we love Jesus, of course we should want to help people out of porn I fully agree, but also end starvation, disease and even war. Jesus was sent so that there could be peace on earth and good will to all, but that happens through Christ, both the head which is Jesus and the body of Christ, which is us. WE can do all things through Christ as long as we see that Christ is two parts, the head and the body and by faith if we really believe we should.

Sarah

God does have a plan for everyone and everyone is called to be a part of ministry somewhere. All jobs in ministry are important as it is designed by God to be a servant and save lives. God gave us so much, but how much do we give Him in return?

Power and Authority

Matthew was before Acts Chapter 2? In Mathew the New covenant had not begun. I could not start until after Jesus had asscended to heaven. Furthermore we are amabassadors for Christ being able to speak for HIm and bind and loose.

The difference between the OT and the NT is that one had to be a Jew and born of a Jew or come into Judaism, (which was not a very popular way to go). In the New Covenant Jesus came that all could be grafted into the promise through Him.

There are those that believe the Jesus came to start a new religion called Christianity, however not once did Jesus tell people to become a Christian. Where most of that came from was from Peter who was the first catholic pope and Christinity florished from that direction, but they had no power.

God has made sure there has always been a remnant.

I want to make it clear that none of us or am I saying that anyone one of us have any good in us except for Him, but I want to also make clear which is biblical correct is that anyone can have the power of God if the believe. All power comes from God, even the power used in vodoo or witchcraft. We have to be careful to use the power of God also so we are not tempted to use the power in the wrong way. But take a look at Mark 11:23-24.

Its sort of like this ok? Just for a moment. Jesus was the perfect example, Right? If He was the perfect example then we can do the things He did, such as miracles and other things, what keeps people from doing things is doubt, lack of belief and lack of Faith.

Jesus came as a man, however He was the only begotten Son of God. We through Jesus are also sons and daughters. Christ is made up of two distinct parts. The first is the head which is Jesus and the second is the body of Christ and we are the body of Christ and if we are not then we are not of Christ?

Here is another thing to think about and pray about. Says real clearly that God is not a respecter of persons, which means He goes for concepts of equality where all have the same ablitiy. Granted we may have different calling or purposes, but no one and I mean no one is over another in the body of Christ. In fact, Jesus is our brother. That does not make Him any less than what He is or what He has done. We cannot be overcomers unless we do have the power of God.

It was much like Adam. Adam was created in God's very image. That means he was a carbon copy of God's Spirit. Adam understand. What happened next is Adam did not walk with Eve as God walked with Adam showing her all that GOd had showed him, which is where inequality first started.

Salvation comes from walking in the authority and putting a stop to what what is happening. Give you an example. One of the things I really do like about Shelley's power prayers is that everything I am stating is said there. A little different but pretty much there.

Why is that important? As Ambassodors for Christ having the power to bind and loose and having the authority to deal with all problems and all needs we have the power to end porn. We have the power to end disease, reduce crime, addicitions. WE have the power to end starvation and homelessness. What keeps us from doing that is being too focused on ourselves and not focused on the will of God for God's people, which is to bring peace on earth and good will to all. Jesus came to put an end to the work of the enemy and we are charged with the same task. so the only reason the enemy can get a foothold is if the body does not do its job.

The botom line although with all of this posting about power, the bottom line that proves that we are His, is by our love one for the other.

I hope I did not get anyone upset with what I have said here, as that honestly was not the intent, but people can do something about what is happening, but it takes love and unity being resolved to put an end to the work of the enemy. Satan the top dooooooooood is only an angel and we throgh Christ have power to command the very angels. That power came as he was ressurected. Jesus was born a little less than the angels, but through His death burial and ressurection He has place all things under His footstoole and we, if we have died been bured and ressurected with Him and in the body we are also over His footstole.

Actually scripture goes on to say that Satan is the biggest of all believer, but I am sure he is not getting to heaven in the end. He is there now, but not for long.

it is a good question

agrl20...

& as said above, we, with our sin-nature, have corrupted what God designed to be beautiful, pleasureable, and intimacy building.

As Diogenese & Beloved describes, we were created for relationship & intimacy. But sin put a destructive wrench in that. We continue -- desperately, destructively, pathetically -- with unhealthy substitutes -- to regain that relationship, closeness, intimacy. We settle for spoiled bread crumbs on the floor, when we could have a gourmet meal with frozen yogurt.

It's a hunger and natural longing that can only be fulfilled within His design. Sex is maximized when we follow is guideline (as the Creator of sex).

Complete intimacy & relationship will not be fulfilled until His return, but we are given the choice of making the best of where we're at now.

You're not alone in your question agrl20---many, including philosophers & theologians--- have asked same/similar questions.

Love is not love whenever it is forced. God could have created automatons, but He chose to create creations (you & me) who have the option of not loving Him back.

This confusion & allowance of pain & suffering surely isn't easy.... & we, with our limited minds, cannot fully understand now. But in a personal relationship with Christ, we can learn to experience & trust His love for us -- for everyone.

Thanks for asking

Good post, qvash

This was a good post. I completely agree.

Love is reciprocal -- it only works when it is both given and received. The same with sex -- it is only healthy when love and pleasure is both given and received.

When you have one person doing all of the giving, and the other all of the taking, it becomes an unhealthy and abusive situation.

Good post, qvash

Well, Sort of glad Jesus loved, even when we didn't love Him? If the object is to be like Him the we need to somehow get by expecting to be loved or even accepted back. I understand and agree that is the easier thing, but either the standard to shoot for is what Jesus gave us or we sort of do our own thing? Not sure if that works too well?

I also see it depends on where we really are in the scope of things. Perhaps in personal relationships may be different? I sort of still go to ministry. Lots of people in ministry do not love back or give back, etc. It would be nice if it happened. (really nice)

Some one once told me that to be a Christian, was to be Christ like. I sort of looked with a puzzled look because after all I am an head shrinker and words mean a lot. Christ like? OK good thought we either are Christ like or seems we just playing the game. Not saying any one is here and I really understand the concept of maturity and people are on different levels of understanding, but the goal I would think is to be like God the Father or Jesus. Their charactaristics. Here with their ears and see with their eyes and hopefully speak with His voice. While all of that is good, love is even better than that, because we are perfected by love if we walk in love and not at the end.

On a personal note, I can say there is nothing good in me except for God and it is my heart to be perfected. I say that in humility not boasting. Its a little difficult to tell how people write things and there are no smiley faces to help show people I have a smiley face going on here.

I know also that I deserve nothing and owe Jesus and God everything, but He doesn't require anything back but to help others. I also have to say that I do not fully understand love, but I understand it today better than a couple years ago. I also know that we all have to learn to be led by God's Spirit for those are the sons/daughters/children of God and if we do that we will not get into abusive relationships.

The big question that I see is whether we really love God enough to be so fully committed, to do what it takes, just like the good mother, which does what it takes for her children. Jesus is like that, He was willing to do what it took.

I know all of it at time seems like a struggle an you feel alone and at least from me being alone i begin to doubt and wonder if I am even going in the right direction in life. This brings me to cry out for God and then i think, may thats what He wanted me to do to start with? Just cry out to Him a little sooner.

In may past I was beaten and bruised more times that i care to even think about. I can say that i have been in a couple spots where it did not look too good and i was a chicken live with feathers. I have to admit. God saw me through that, even though I did not feel Him. I think because of that, I have gone on and done more things in ministry, but knowing that my life really is in God's hands.

I have no life without Him or good thoughts or even direction any longer without Him. At one time I could have made it on the streets if need be, after all it is where I came from. Only thing I can tell you is that God talked to me three times outside of my head. It was something that i had not dreamed. His voice makes one want to drop to thier knees. I don't see my self as more blessed than others for that having happened, but actually figured it happened because I am a tad slow, but His promise to me is and was to lead me into all righteousnes.

I know that by walking with Him, He has done more for us than we can even comprehend, but He did it out of love and respect for us. He listens when i speak. If I have a heart for God, it is only because He put it there. I pray all experience His love as it is neverending.

My heart wanted to do, do, do and do and now my heart just desires to sit at His feet and when He sends me I go.

May the blessings of God be on you all,

Sarah

Porn Sex is Laughable

Okay, so I allowed myself to go on some porn sites recently to prove a point to some friends. The sex is SO stupid and it's the same BORING thing over and over and over... Guy gropes females's private parts while not giving a crap about her as a PERSON, girl pretends to be so enamored with his penis, then guy does his "magic trick" that ANY 13 year old boy can do and THIS IS A TURN ON???? BIG WHOOP! We laughed our heads off at the stupidity of it all. Please, don't insult the intelligence and mind of God anymore by watching this stupid garbage. The sex in porn is NOT OF GOD!! It is absolutely opposite of what He designed. The missing ingredient is LOVE! Leave it to humankind to take what He designed to be very intimate, sacred and reserved for LOVE ONLY and make into nothingness.

I'm amazed that God doesn't wipe out humans for being so stupid with something He deemed as sacred and precious. So precious in fact, it is the way He chose for life to be created. If only the men and women of porn knew we were laughing our heads off at their stupidity- they would have lost their erections and pulled their pants up. If they weren't such sad human beings, porn really would be laughable but the truth is, after looking at it- we all felt very sad for them for being so clueless and lost because they don't know God. Why anyone finds the sex in porn appealing is beyond me. I know of guys who feel this way too so it's not just us women.

Hmm...I didn't say I was watching porn did I? No, I didn't. I think you missunderstood me. You came off kinda mean and angry and please don't call me stupid alright? I heard enough of that crap when I was younger. I am just angry that porn is sex to some people. I am angry that it causes a lot of pain. Wow...I wasn't trying to make anyone angry at me. I didn't want anyone to hate me or anything...I just don't understand. Good grief!
