Depressed...Again...

I went to see my son last month in PA, I guess he was telling some of his friends at school that I used to sing in a Doors tribute act, so he looked up the name of the band on the web. He found some blog of a guy who came to see us and was raving about how good we were, had a pic w/me posted. Today I just got a call from a club that wanted us to play their bike nights this summer. Just like when I quit Mojo back in 96, I miss it again. As much trouble as it was, it seems it's the only thing I can do well, everything else I try falls apart. I feel like such a complete and total loser!
If only I could've done the gig w/out falling into the role, w/out falling into all the excess!

Dear Candlemass:
It is said that, if you play with fire sooner or later you will get burnt.
But CONGRATULATIONS! You held out since 1996 which would mean that you have the LORD lending you His strength & power by His presence in your life. You can be sure that satan does not like this. One thing you are not is a loser, the deceiver would like you to think that but you look up to heaven, that's where your help comes from, you will know that you are ready to be empowered for great exploits. Trust God.
The devil would like you know that you are no good without doing the things he would like to make you do ~ get distanced from God. And satan puts great temptation before you and urges you with all kinds of disappointing thoughts in your mind to bring you to the point of breaking down to follows the paths of darkness.
God holds you precious in His sight. He has great plans & purposes lined up for you. He wants you to yield completely to Him so that He who has started the good work in you may prepare you for the time & life God has already charted out for you.
Depression is of satan. Hope, Joy & Peace is from the Lord Jesus. You know which is for you.
Rely on Jesus, His victory which becomes your starting point and grow in strength to strength as you stay properly attached to the vine and your fruit will then please God {John 15:5}.
You don't have to do this alone, just reach out and Christ Jesus will provide the firm grasp {as He did to Peter, when he began to sink seeing the violent rages of the ocean}. God is always very close to you. That's all you need.
Rise and stand firm for the great God Almighty is with you.
Shalom
In His Grip

Nevermind, think I'm just feeling sorry for myself...again!
Before I put the band together in 06 I had a heart to heart w/a pastor I know from Cornerstone. At the time I was working on a musical project that was going no where and I was frustrated. He encouraged me to put the musical endevours on the back burner and concentrate on my relationship w/God. Of course I knew better and continued w/the project. It went no where so I put The Doors tribute together because I knew I could do it and be on stage NOW! I got what I wanted, and a lot more of what I didn't want as well!
I think we all have a proclivity to romanticize certain events in our past, or to have selective memories about them.
