It's been a while since I have been here. But I have had no control of my mind. I have unwanted thoughts and I need peace. It's been so long.

Getting out of the trap

The only way I know out of a trap, if your tired of the trap is to go before God and repent, which in part is being sorry for being in the trap and secondly being grieved to the point in your spirit that your not willing to go down the path that allows you to be in the trap. In other words go down a different direction.

It is much like the story of the guy who gets up and takes a walk down the street and sees a big hole and walks in it. He hurts himslf while falling in the whole, but with some effort got out of the whole. The next day he went down the same street and this time was a little more cautious of the whole, but fell into it anyway. This time he hurt himself worse than the first time.

Next time he walked down the street he walked as far away from the whole, but the hole drew him in anyway and fell again. This all happened a few more times and then finally the light bulb came on and decided to go down a different street. We all are much the same where God desires us to go up the mountain to commune with Hiw we often find good reasons to wonder around the mountain.

Here is the truth and it is real practical, because I have been in a few holes myself, which is to take the time and seek God. He will reach out to you as you seek Him for direction in your life. There is joy in going in the direction God has called you to go and in that joy you will find peace.

Have no fear walking the path that God wants for you has nothing to do with how smart you are or looks or even if you can hit your plate at dinner with your fork. What it all has to do is with your availability and not your capabilities.

Jesus gave His life for you so that you do not have to go through what you are going through. What He has for you is a gift, but He forces no one to accept His gift. You have to reach out and accept it and things will change.

Here is another thing you can do, which is to pray the Lord's prayer even before you get out of bed and really focus on the part where you pray that God's will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Really it works. We just have to be resolved to praying it and reaching out. We become resolved in doing so, because we have come to a point in our lives that we finally understand there is no hope for anything without God and His direction in our lives.

God does have a plan for everyone and everyone is called to be a part of ministry somewhere. All jobs in ministry are important as it is designed by God to save lives. As you walk in what He has called you to do, you will find joy, peace and the love you have been seeking for.

I don't get it Carrol? I am who I am just like Michael Jackson was who he was. You all have pronounced him saved, why not me?

I mean you guys convinced me that it's ok to be me.

Honestly I don't have a right to say who is or who isn't saved. Yes I agree with you that you should be yourself, but then ask God to change the things He wants, rather than trying to be something your not (true for anyone).

We all are a work in progress, but how we change is by seeking God for what He wants.

I don't know much about Michael Jackson, except he made a lot of money and had a sad life and frankly I was surprised he died.

God know who is saved and not, in fact in scripture it says we will be surprised at who makes it (that may also mean might be surprised at who doesn't make it). Paul put it rather accurately when he said, "work out your salvation with fear and trembling."

It is interesting though that everyone does seem to say He was THE perfect example. As I see it, He laid down His will and agenda and life for the will of the Father and I am suggesting we probably also be doing the same thing.

Having said that it takes time to bring all the changes and maybe even years, but one should be able to look back and say, they are not the same person.

Hope that answered your question? If not I will try again.

Sarah

Very good post. You're

Very good post. You're obviously a very intelligent woman. I can take the Word of God from your hand. But as for the others, there is far to much hypocrisy and sin in their lives.

Let me ask you, what verse speaks about being surprised on who makes it into heaven?

Wait: Hopefully, I haven't judged your profession of faith in haste? After reading your web site I have some questions and some doubts.

Hi, Torn;

Can you expand on this statement, please? Who are "the others" that you are referring to?

Thanks for the kind thought, but just have been around the block.

As far as the verses about us being surprised? At the top of my intelligent pea for a brain I can't remember, but know its in there somewhere.

Wisdom comes from two things, first God, but then experience and some experiences are good and some we would like to forget. Trust like relationships take time to build.

Please allow me to challenge

Please allow me to challenge you a little bit and please don't get mad at me. But if you can't list chapter and verse then we have to assume that the scripture does not exist. Or quite possibly you have misinterpreted the meaning. I was always taught that we would know the true Christians by their displaying the fruit of the Spirit. Now the fruit of the Spirit and simple good works are two completely different things. So simply helping people out of porn proves nothing.

Just a reminder

Hey, you guys;

Just a reminder to please keep this thread on topic. If you wish to discuss alternate websites, please do so through private messaging.

Hey, TornByPorn -- I can't recall a specific Scripture that says that we will be surprised by who will enter heaven, but I do know that I have heard a lot of preachers make that statement. Even though it's not in Scripture, I would agree with it.

I think the point is that we cannot judge who will or won't enter heaven. Scripture tells us that man looks on the outward appearance, but God looks on the heart. Seeing as how none of us are able to see one another person's heart, I think it is safe to assume that we cannot judge another's salvation.

1 Cor. 4:5Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord comes, who will both bring to light the hidden things of darkness and reveal the counsels of the hearts

You are correct in that a person's walk with God is evidenced by the fruit of the Spirit. Also, by their obedience to the word of God. Even so, the Bible still warns us that we are not to judge one another, as this is God's job:

James 4:12There is one Lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy. Who are you to judge another?

Rom. 14:10But why do you judge your brother? Or why do you show contempt for your brother? For we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ

Helping people out of porn, if it is done in the name of the Lord, shows that we are both exhibiting the fruits of the spirit, and obeying the word of the Lord.

If you help people out of

If you help people out of porn in the name of the Lord, then you would also confess with the mouth, the things of the Lord. You must do both to show fruit of the spirit. Also, you would LOVE other Christians. Huge sign of a saved person.

Matthew 5:
19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and SHALL TEACH MEN TO DO SO, he shall be called the LEAST in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

Matthew 7-1: first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye. (That means repent and stop sinning)Before you try and help people out of the same sins that you are in ladies.

People will say we are not to judge when we speak out against sinful activity. That is not them meaning of, "don't judge".

John 7-14 says: 24 Stop judging by mere appearances, and make a right judgment.”

Jesus was condemning of hypocritical, self-righteous judgments of others.

We are to proclaim God's Word: Ephesians 4:15 15 Instead, speaking the truth in love,

Proclaim God's Word regarding sin: 2 Timothy 4:2
2 Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction.

We are to "judge" sin, but always with the goal of presenting the solution for sin and its consequences—the Lord Jesus Christ.

The Bible also says, A spiritual man judges all things.1 Corinthians

Now where is the verse that says we will be surprised on who gets into heaven? Telling me some paster you heard said it simply does not cut it.

Limitations on judging
1. We are not to be angry without cause.
2. We are not to judge one another for whether or not we continue to practice Jewish feasts or Jewish dietary laws.
3. We are not to place final judgment on someone - in terms of salvation or damnation/condemnation.
4. We are not to judge who will be rewarded with a greater position in the kingdom of God.
5. We are not to judge those outside the church, except to judge them as outside the church.
6. We are not to judge hastily, improperly, or presumptuously, and without first examining ourselves.
7. We are not to judge according to appearance, but according to God's standard of righteousness.

Actually if your going to look at the fruit of the Spirit, the first one is love. The second, comes real close to the first, which is joy and then peace. Shalom!

What I see is an evangelist outreach. While it is important that people learn discipleship, the first is to reach out in love, which is what they seem to do pretty good. Better than many in fact.

It takes a lot to put something like this together. "Matthew 7-1: first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye. (That means repent and stop sinning)" I sort of see that as a real loose interpetation if one at all. I thin what that is saying is before you critisize another, make sure your walking the right way and if you are and you see someone stumble I think your supposed to help them and walk with them and not just tell them how goofy they are.

Really the Holy Spirit has been in business a long time, who is close to the heart of God. He makes correction where He will. God is big enough to do that and in addition God also defends His words and that is a good thing, because I also kinda count on Him defending me.

"Now where is the verse that says we will be surprised on who gets into heaven?" Sounds prophety to me, might check out Isaiah? Jesus a time or two used some of his stuff. Point is, no one knows who is or who is not going to make it.

Hi

Hi, TornbyPorn;

I'm so glad that you've decided to come back on here.

First of all, I just really want to encourage you to go to the prayer forum and post your request there. There are plenty of people on this site who will lift you up to the Lord, and right now you really need that.

I will pray for you, as well. I am so sorry that you're struggling right now. The Lord knows your struggle, and He wants to help you. Jesus doesn't condemn you. He loves you. Sometimes, we condemn ourselves more than Christ does, but rest assured that Christ wants you to be victorious.

How have you been doing? Have you been actually viewing porn, or have you been having more impure thoughts? I'm not sure what your history is. Obviously, if a person watches porn for a long time, he is going to struggle more than someone who has only watched it a few times.

I just really want to encourage you not to give up. It may seem so frustrating right now, but Jesus is right there with you. He promised us that He would never leave us nor forsake us.

1 Peter 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour

Eph. 6:10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of His might

1 Cor. 10:13 No temptation has overtaken you except as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make a way of escape, that you may be able to bear it

Your mind is in the heat of battle right now, and you are being bombarded with thoughts. I really want to encourage you to pray and seek the Lord. You say that you do not have control of your mind, but I just want to re-assure you that that's not true. God promised us a sound mind (2 Tim. 1:7). Have you tried giving control of your thoughts over to God? God will not allow you to become bombarded with thoughts that you cannot control. He tells us that we must take every thought captive (2 Cor. 10:5), and He will help you to do this.

Can I encourage you to pray and really seek the Lord? He is not angry with you. He loves you. Be honest with Him, and tell Him your struggle. He will listen, and He will help you....but you have to help yourself first by coming to Him.

I will pray for you. Please continue to let us know how you're doing.
